|Abstract + Keywords||There have been drastic changes in the strategies and organization within using the Web as an enhanced educational tool into e-learning milieus for over the last decade. The new advancements and approaches of the use of the Web for virtual education purposes force the online designers to develop and integrate enhanced Web-based applications into distance online education. The Web, essentially, combines distance education systems and the Internet as well as computer-based applications through a network to incorporate interactivity. Moreover, enhanced Web-based educational applications provide richer interaction and more collaboration among online learners. Interactive accessible information and knowledge resources on the Web are its essential addition which makes the Web create an enhanced educational environment. |
The Web embeds a variety of interactive functions with the standard computer program. The mixed signal is sent to learners via standard computer transmission methods and/or telephone lines. Without a doubt, the radical improvements and revolution of high speed networks, a digital device, new set-top boxes, software and compression technologies and data broadcasting services allow distance online providers give educational services to the virtual learners into their homes and offices around the world. Needless to say, many traditional and contemporary distance education professionals turn their attention in growing numbers to the Internet and computer-based technologies to apply enhances Web programs into e-learning. Enhanced Web applications make existing passive Internet learners encourage and involve into their learning experiences actively.
The main purpose of this paper is to create digital media design, production, and programming standards for the Web as an enhanced educational tool into e-learning milieus. Enhanced Web-based applications, commonly known as Web-based instruction, provides increased learner control over how they view and interact with virtual educational settings. This imperative aspect of enhanced Web applications emphasizes that it has a two-way channel for its learners to interact with each other.
In this paper, also, a framework for enhanced Web applications into distance education will be developed and discussed to ensure learning purposes for not only educators who use and integrate distance online activities in their traditional courses, but also educators who design and deliver course via distance online. This developed framework provides necessary and useful information to e-learning producers to develop Web-based programs and methods, and improve their understanding about enhanced Web-based applications into virtual milieus.
The most essential element to design, implement and evaluate a theoretical framework is the social, political and economical background of the country, which uses the Web for the educational purposes into e-learning milieus. Although the positive changes are happening around the world to enable this innovative medium, in this paper, to build up an applicable theoretical framework for any developed, developing and underdeveloped countries will be discussed based on the existing circumstances and possibilities of the educational systems the as well. Regardless of the developments and improvements over the decade, there are still many challenges and risks to establish and implement Web-based applications into distance education programs. Launching enhanced Web-based educational applications needs not only money, but also human resources. Therefore, it will be vague whether each country can use and integrate same theoretical frameworks into their virtual educational applications.
