| Abstract | In this study, we tried to find out how communication should be achieved in distance learning. Distance learning communication types-synchronous and asynchronous communication-have been described. Tools and technologies which used for implementing these communication types have been examined. Advantages and disadvantages of these tools and technologies have been stated. Synchronous and asynchronous communication have been compared by the help of these advantages and disadvantages. Turkish universities which have distance learning programs have been examined to state what kind of communication is used. |
